A free online to-do list that needs no account

Type a task into the box at the top of the page and press Enter. That is the whole required workflow. Everything else on this page — due dates, priorities, tags, notes, separate lists — is optional and stays out of the way until you ask for it.

There is no sign-up step, no email address and no trial. The task list is built and stored by your own browser, so it is ready the moment the page loads and it keeps working if your connection drops.

Typing a due date and priority in one line

The quick-add box reads a small, fixed vocabulary as you type and shows you what it found before you commit. Entering "Call John tomorrow high priority" creates a task called "Call John", due tomorrow, marked High.

It recognises today, tonight, tomorrow, a weekday name such as friday, "next week", and a numeric date written day first as 14/10 or 14/10/2026. For importance it reads "high priority", "medium priority", "low priority" or the shorthand !1, !2 and !3. A word starting with # becomes a tag, and a word starting with @ selects one of your lists by name.

Anything it does not recognise is left in the task title exactly as you typed it, and every detection appears as a chip you can remove before adding. The parser never guesses at a date it cannot read: an impossible date such as 31/02 is ignored rather than quietly shifted to the start of March.

Views, lists and filters for a daily task planner

Six views group the same tasks in different ways. All tasks shows everything outstanding. Today holds tasks due today, Upcoming covers the following seven days, and Overdue collects anything whose due date has passed and which is still open. High priority and Completed do what their names suggest, and each view shows a live count.

Lists are separate from views. A list is a place a task belongs — Personal, Work, Shopping, Study — and you can add, rename, reorder and delete your own. Deleting a list never deletes its tasks: they move back to the Inbox so nothing disappears behind a single click.

Search matches the title, the notes and the tags at the same time, and it combines with whichever view and list are selected rather than replacing them. Sorting is separate again, so you can read the same filtered set by due date, by priority, by when you added it, or in the manual order you dragged it into.

How the progress figures are calculated

The progress ring shows completed tasks as a share of all tasks currently in the tool, rounded for display and shown as a plain figure beside the graphic as well. Remaining is simply the tasks that are not ticked off, and Overdue counts open tasks whose due date is earlier than today.

Completed today counts tasks you ticked off since local midnight. The streak counts consecutive days on which you completed at least one task, ending either today or yesterday — the one-day tolerance means the number does not reset to zero every midnight before you have had a chance to start.

These figures describe the tasks held in this browser only. Deleting tasks or clearing the site data changes them, and a task completed on another device or in another browser is not counted here.

Keyboard and screen reader use

Every control is reachable with the keyboard alone. Press the forward slash to jump straight to the quick-add box, Enter to add, and Escape to leave an edit without saving it. A focused task can be moved up or down the manual order with Alt and the arrow keys, and each move is announced so the new position is clear without watching the screen.

Priority and status are never signalled by colour on its own — each badge carries a word and an icon as well — and deleting a task is reversible for ten seconds from an undo bar that sits in the page rather than floating over your next action.

Where your tasks are kept

Tasks are written to this browser's local storage on this device. They are still there after you refresh the page, close the tab or restart the computer, and they stay until you delete them in the tool or clear this site's data in your browser settings.

They are not uploaded, not placed in the page address, not attached to an account and not readable by another device or another browser on the same device. A private or incognito window keeps its own copy and discards it when the window closes. Normal site navigation and visitor analytics still apply to the page itself, as described in the privacy policy.

Because the tasks live in one browser, they are as durable as that browser profile and no more. Anyone with access to the device can open the page and read them, and a browser cleanup tool that clears site data will remove them. Keep anything you cannot afford to lose somewhere you back up.

To-do list questions

Yes. Every feature on this page is free to use, with no account, no trial and no paid tier. The page carries advertising, which is kept out of the task area itself.
