What these productivity tools cover
Most of this category is about time zones, because that is where the repeated, error-prone arithmetic in distributed work actually lives. The rest is a to-do list for capturing what you have to do today.
The time zone tools divide into planners and converters. A planner takes several people or cities and shows you where their working hours overlap, which is the question you have when scheduling a meeting. A converter takes one pair of zones and explains it properly, including the part that trips people up — the date change, and what happens when one side moves for daylight saving and the other does not.
Planner or converter
Use a planner when you have more than two locations and no fixed time yet. The team planner compares everyone on one timeline and marks the slots that fall inside working hours for all of them; the meeting planner does the same for a single event across several countries; the remote team planner is aimed at the case where the overlap is narrow enough to be worth seeing explicitly.
Use a converter when the pair is fixed and recurring. The IST converters cover the routes that come up most often from India — US Eastern, US Pacific, UK time — and each one explains the behaviour of that specific pair rather than printing a number. The India to USA table covers every mainland US zone at once, including Arizona, which does not observe daylight saving and so drifts relative to its neighbours twice a year.

- A fixed pair you convert often — the IST to EST, PST and GMT converters.
- India against every US zone in one view — India to USA Time Difference.
- Today's tasks — To-Do List.
Why daylight saving matters here
A time difference is not a constant. India does not observe daylight saving; the United States and the United Kingdom both do, and they change on different dates. For several weeks each year the gap between IST and London, or IST and New York, is an hour different from the figure people have memorised — and a recurring meeting set by that remembered figure silently moves.
The converters are written around that, which is why each one covers a changeover rather than returning a single offset. If you schedule across these zones regularly, the transition weeks are the ones to check.
Productivity Tools questions
The remote team planner, which is built for the case where the overlap is short enough that you need to see exactly where it falls. The team planner is the better choice when everyone is within a few hours of each other and you are picking between several workable slots rather than hunting for one.
